What ever happened to Mathilda from Leon the Professional?

Author Russell Edwards continues the saga in his newest book, Mathilda 2.0A Young Woman’s Scheme to Avenge Her Family’s Murder

It’s possible that Natalie Portman always wondered:
What happened to Mathilda after she was relegated to spend the remainder of her youth at Spencer School for children.

At Spencer School, Mathilda struggled to deal with her loss using legitimate methods such as ethics, morals, and the law. Subconsciously, for years, the devil on her shoulder screamed into her ear for vengeance.

A young woman blinded by revenge, Mathilda resolved to exact her form of justice on those who killed her mother, father, sister, her baby brother, and Leon – the savior she imagined she loved. Leon allowed her into his apartment, saving her from the fate that befell her family.

Leon was a hit man for the mob that owed him tens of thousands of dollars. In trying to protect Mathilda, Leon was cut down by the same dirty DEA agents that killed Mathilda’s family. Leon had promised Mathilda that if anything happened to him, she’d receive this money when she reached adulthood and could leave Spencer school.

Mathilda chose to avenge those she loved, and this money would be her seed money to exact revenge. Failing that mission would leave Leon un-avenged, and the DEA agents free to continue their corruption.

Staying ahead of the New York DEA, as well as the New York City mob, was a balancing act that few would attempt, and even fewer would accomplish. With the help of Justin, expert marksman and military self-defense guru, Mathilda succeeds in evading both the detectives and the mob.

Mathilda 2.0 is an action novel that tells the story of a young girl, determined in her heart, to avenge the malicious murder of her family – and especially her precious baby brother. He was the single reason that Mathilda never ran away from home. For Mathilda, it was she alone who had to stick around to protect her baby brother from the hardship of their parents’ life in a run-down neighborhood of New York City.
